Default Jeepster Commander Question

OK guys, not sure if this is the right place to discuss, but saw a 69 jeepster commander in the lemon lot on base asking 8200 and was wondering what it is really worth. Interior looks good, but undercarriage is rusty as "F!" I'll post some pics when I can

I had one of these. Mine was a 67 and it was my first vehicle. It had the Buick V6 and I loved it so much. I went everywhere with this thing and never once got stuck. Mine looked kind of funny though... the people who had it before me had cut the bed off because of rust and made a wooden bed. It was still cool though. I broke the frame rail on the passenger side but after a good quality weld job it was good as new. Man, I wish I could list all the fun high school times I had in this rig... good times!

The Jeepster Commando with the v6 was light and fun. Clutch cable issues for the manuals, take the hardtop off and what a transformation ! Rust always an issue, as frame/body work is time consuming and expensive. Price? Depends on whether rust is "surface" or is eating holes in things. Look for previous repairs, bondo, patches, visible welds....

Looks like fun but I would not pay that much for it. I would probably pay about 5K for it.

Roger. Thanks for the info. I'm not so much interested in buying as just curious if it was a classic steal
