Why I have been out of the JK Loop :)
Figured I'd post some pics up of the 85CJ I have been working on like mad!
Here is the deal, was at R/R getting a new skid for our 12 Rubi and someone had given this 85 CJ in as partial Payment on a JK.
My wife and I had to talk our son (who just returned from his service in the military) into buying (also so he would stop riding along with our 08 or 12 since I hate running a back seat in either out 2-Door JK's).
So, I have been help (ie doing most of the work and funding the impoverished GI Bill student now) for this CJ, but what a joyous father and son project!
Off the trailer
Getting her running
We are Mobile
Houston, we have Rust
Have no fear, Q-Tec has mucho CJ Parts
Dash Refurbished and New YJ Doors SCORE
Junkyard Raiding for 91 Blazer Tilt Column and Seats
Painting Today
Bout another 2 more months (or i'll be broke) which ever comes first

Nice work so far. Old CJ's really are a lot of fun. I did a similar restoration on a '76 CJ-5 a few years back and wish I wouldn't have sold it. Good luck finishing her up and keep us posted.
Here's my 5 right after painting... first vehicle I actually sprayed myself.

Had to re-shoot the Jeep, as had some issues with the reducer I was running for the temperature in the barn and Orange Peel..
Color-sanded and re-shot the entire thing, dang that GM Gunmetal Metallic at $155 a qt really starts racking up!
