Default Yup, the New Renegade Is Definitely a Jeep

Well, we took the Renegade off-roading. And die-hard Jeep fans can rest easier, because the new SUV, with a personality all its own, certainly lives up to the Jeep nameplate.

Skimmed the article. Looks like a demonstration set up by Jeep. I'd love to see a review written from the perspective of a trail ride with stock Wranglers, for comparison, on a moderate trail.

Exactly...

There must by a reason why it wasn't tested the opposite way - incline.

Years back, I did very similar declines in a... VW Beetle. Yes, I bent the bumpers, but no other harm. The Beetle made it before I even knew about airing down.

If an old Beetle, with 2x4 and very narrow road tires can do it, I don't see what "offroading" tag can be attached to this Renegade.

It really is starting to grow on me. I would never own one myself but i would recommend one for my mom for sure. All in all, it's looks a hell of a lot better than the new Cherokee's. Those need to be wrapped in a burlap sack in thrown in the river.

I'd like to see one tricked out on some stock rubi wheels & tires...

I kinda like these little Jeeps. They will never stand up to a Wrangler but they will serve a purpose for some.
