2 YJs for the price of NONE!
No the title is not a typo. I just inherited 2 YJs and paid absolutely nothing for them. Unfortunately my uncle passed away and owned alot of vehicles. Majority of them were in pieces and not running though but some of them were in ok shape. It turns out that 2 of them were YJs (92' and 94'). The 92' was actually one that he drove often and was starting to show some age so he purchased the 94' for parts to fix the other one up. I showed interest in them and in the end inherited them and just recently took delivery on them.
Here's the scoop on the Jeeps:
1994 Red YJ
- 4 cyl, 5 speed Manual, 94,xxx miles
- the engine turns over and runs once it is jumped (so a new battery is in order)
- body is a 7/10 but the frame is shot
1992 Red YJ (Parts Jeep)
- 4 cyl, 5 speed Manual, 175,xxx miles
- the engine does not turn over; possibly might just be the starter
- body is horrible on it but the frame is solid
I always wanted a second wrangler because of the limitations on how much I can modify my JK due to the Lifetime warranty. Now that the JK is close to being where I want to keep it I now have a new toy to play with. I do have my work cut out for me though because I am going to have to preform a complete frame swap. The good thing is I can make sure the frame is solid rust proof it while i am down there. Also I am going to get the body back into good shape as well an undercoat the bottom and also bedline the inside of the tub. I have 3 sets of rims to chose from (1 set of white wagon wheels, 1 set of decent JEEP brand 5 spoke aluminum, 1 set of aftermarket 5 spoke aluminum with good backspacing). Along with the aftermarket rims I also have a 2.5" lift kit to go with it as well so that will go on during the restoration. The only money that I am thinking about putting into the jeep is for a new paint job. The Red paint on both have faded to a nice Pink. My choices that I have narrowed it down to are an electric blue or lime green.
Later down the road will most likely be a motor swap, axle swap, and more lift. But for now I am trying to cut as many costs as I can by doing majority of the work myself along with some help from friends. I will post pictures later this week of the Jeeps.

Sorry to hear about your uncle as well.... He has handed down 2 very special Jeeps to you that you should restore in his honor and take them for joy rides.... I am sure that is just what he wanted you to do. It would be cool if you had pictures with him and the Jeeps before he passed and then take new pics after you restore them
... Either way, enjoy those bad boys
Thank you guys ...
So Im in a dilemma with this now guys. I did some more investigations on the jeep with the good frame and ..... yeah that rear end of that one is shot LOL
So I was able to find a frame on Craigslist that was sandblasted and primed then put into storage and hasn't been touched since. He is only asking $200 ... awesome deal right? There's a catch ... it has motor mounts on it for a chevy v6 and also no shock mounts at all. So since I do not want to do a motor swap at this moment should I still pick it up and attempt to get 4 cyl motor mounts and shock mounts welded on to the frame so that it can be used?
Come on you YJ guys gimme some advice here LOL

Sounds like some good fun!! I wouldn't sweat the motor and shock mounts. Bit of fabrication and welding. Your new frame won't be $200 anymore but oh well.
Sayyy, those V6 mounts just might be also right for a small block V8. Hrmmmmm. . .

I have a really nice frame that i was going to put under mine but i changed my mind if your interested PM me thanks Nick-

And yes if you are talking about Davey's Jeeps yeah I emailed them but they do not have any YJ frames. I will be sending you a PM though about the frame.
