Default AC problems in my TJ

when i bought my TJ, the only setting on the AC that worked was full blast(no knob, just the piece of metal sticking out with the knob missing). Well last night, the a/c died while my gf was driving it. it's blowing out air but not cold air.

i wonder how much will this be to fix it or should i look into just buying a whole new a/c setup(believe me....i started wondering why i needed AC in a jeep when i have the ability to just take the doors/windows off and put the top down)

Check the fuse
Check the belt
The compressor should cycle on and off.
With the engine off inspect the compressor the clutch will over heat and warp.. It can also wear out and have metal shavings coming out of it.

i might have to do that once i get in a better financial position. right now with it being fall season, i'm very much ok with taking the top down and/or taking the doors/windows off. it's my fiancee who has issues with the AC not working.

holy hell...they wanted 1K to fix it. looking online the AC kit that's ready to install runs 1K by itself

Try and recharge it the a/c, make sure belt didn't pop off, I'm sure it didn't if you still have Power steering and alternator. Also check the condenser rock could have flown up and punctured it.

as for it only blowing on high try replacing blower motor resistor.
