Default First jeep

Eh guys I'm buying my first jeep in a few months. Woohoo! Anyways I've heard that the automatics before the year of 2000 are really bad. Is it better off getting a manual if the year is older than 2000? Also any tips on what to look for when buying pre owned to make sure it's in good condition would be appreciated.

Wait they make jeeps with a automatic trans? personally ive never driven one.
as for things you want make sure you get a six. the 4 bangers are dawgs(manual or automatic it doesn't matter) bad on gas, slow as hell. what years are you looking for?

I just bought a 2000 wrangler with150,000 miles on it. It seems it is In very good
Condition. However, you never know. What are the most important things to have
Checked out and replaced right away so I can avoid some mechanical issues?

I would check the axles and the oil in the motor and if there are any kind of rust under the jeep or on the body

I would start with all the fluids. and then go and torque everything down good. you should be good to go after that
