Low Idling issues when first starting and dies.
Hi there,
New to the forums. I have a 2001 jeep wrangler tj with about 180,000 miles on it. I am having some issues when I start it in the mornings and evenings.. basically when the engine is cold, it has very low rough idle and then dies. It takes about 3 times to start until I can rev the gas to 3-4 rpms a couple times and it seems to clear it up. If I dont do this and take off as soon as I slow down or stop it wants to die or does dies. I only have issues when the engine is cold. Any idea what this could be.?! Thanks

On the TJ the first thing to check/ replace was always the throttle position sensor. They're $20 and usually need changing anyways. Other than that, responses might be a little quiet here on this forum as most folks are JK folks with just a few past TJ owners.
