Picked this up the other day. Needs a lot of TLC. I have had a lot of other jeeps and have always missed my old jeeps. I love my JK. I can wheel with the wife and kiddos in comfort. But I wanted to either go balls out on my JK, or build something.

I like the streetability of my JK and being able to drive it down the highway reliably. I was about to the point where it was going to end up not streetable, so as an alternative I picked up this YJ for a pretty good deal. It's something I can take a sawzall to. Building is my passion. I get as much enjoyment from it as wheeling.

It's got a 5.3 chevy th-350, 203/205 doubler. Front Dana 60 with 35 spline outters/14 bolt and 40" irocs with staun internal beadlocks. My plans are to link it front and rear, cut most of the body out from the firewall back and build a whole new cage with the back buggied out.

2 years ago I built a large buggy from a yj base and loved it. Long story short someone offered me a price I couldn't refuse so I sold it. I want to make this one look similar but smaller.

Last buggy I built had 49" irocs, rockwells and a chevy BB.

I was going to fix the cage. The. I was going to rework the wiring hack job. I ended up literally pulling every single wire out of the jeep. I will rewire it myself. Well... As soon as I link the rear, stretch the front, tube in the back, and probably get it painted now. Always turns out this way!

I was about to chop up my Jk, and I happen to come across this for a great deal. One day though I want to buggy out the rear of my JKU. I love to build jeeps! Well see how this one turns out. I beat on my Jk pretty hard, so to preserve it I'll wheel this thing in the rocks and hard stuff, and keep my jk for the mountains and trail riding. My wife is actually pretty excited about this build too, which is a big plus.

I'll post my progress here.

Tonight I cut the frame and threw in my mock up cage for ideas. I will be getting tubing in before long. Been on order over a week. But hopefully this next week it'll be back sitting on it's own. Plans are to use some 2" fox air shocks. Well see. I've used tj coils on the last 2 and am very happy with the results and ride. I am stretching it from 104" to 115". Should help with steeper climbs. Here's tonights progress:

I will add, I have a TON of clean up work to do on the tub and frame.

Ultimate plans are
New cage
Tube out rear
Build dash ( simple)
Re wire for lights and engine.
Link rear
Wheel!
