Spider LJ
WOW you aren't kidding about that color being sick as hell Luai! Love it!!! Those ARB covers are drool worthy. You already have the dream JK and soon to be dream LJ. Love your taste in, well, pretty much everything! Keep it up,your an inspiration to us all!
That ARB diff cover is just too pretty to bolt back on to an axle that will actually get used! Your color choice is going to look really amazing on the LJ
BTW, I know this is a topic in your 20's or 22's thread, which wheel did you choose, the Fuels or the XD's???

Here are some pics of the Jeep getting stripped and prepped for paint
Windshield is out and sanded the rusted area behind the hinges
Cage while getting it out

some body work to get rid of the wavy surface off the new fenders

cage is out

LJ Willys

Here's the grill, it's got some surface rust because of that stupid chrome insert that was on it from the factory
that was cleaned up today (no pics of that yet)

half doors fixed and primed

and some better pics of the diff cover. I don't know if there are any painters here that could possibly explain what i'm about to say in any better way. but from choosing between all the colors that I went through, this is an interesting color for many reasons. first, it has black in it which you will see here in a bit. when you look at it from one angle it looks gray but everything else seems much darker to where it's almost black. which I think is really super cool! the other thing is that it's rich with metallic when you get really close to it but from a distance it looks plane
lastly it looks light gray almost silver under light. maybe yellowish under the sun! really interesting or maybe I just never looked at car paint in detail
like I said before the color has been slightly modified so if anyone wants the color code or whatever the painters use to know which one it is, let me know and i'll talk to my painters! so far everyone loves it and that's great
hard to get the color with a camera on a small surface like this cover. but you guys get the idea for now

I got all the plastic sh*t that goes on the outside of the Jeep like the fuel surrond thing and the hinges for the hood and tie down..etc
I don't think you guys want to see factory crap but god damn!! they are expensive at 600~ with 20% discount!
body work + paint is at about 6500 with a new factory Windshield just to give you guys who are considering a paint job an idea. I'm sure the cost goes up or down depending on the body work.
I got factory fog light switches that I'll wire the roof rack lights too again retraining the factory look on the inside
The interior (seats, roll bar padding and carpet) has been dropped of at detail. should have it all back by Wed.
That's all I have this week for the LJ
as for the JK
40s and 20s next week
I'll have the 40s side by side with my new 42s. will be interesting to see the size difference.
