I totally agree

time for another update

the front C gussets are in. the Jeep should be all done by Wed. unless other shit comes up then the wait continues.

kinda sucks living the past moth without my JK and LJ not used to not have both.

so anyways, on friday I disassembled the interior seats and all minus the dash in 30 minutes I love Jeeps. I was getting it ready for paint.

I hope to have the Jeep back on the last week of april!

we got the 12K lbs Warn winch. I'll test fit it on monday. Shocks are still on backorder!

somewhere in the US

time for another update!

more parts this time

I mentioned earlier that I got the Warn endurance 12000lbs winch

decided to do a synthetic line with the safety thimble and the viking 350 series fairlead

ARB 63 quart fridge, slider, wiring kit, mounts and diff covers

those will be painted to match the LJ

Also went ahead and pulled the trigger on the mopar corners they look like the AEV jk corners plus the bar on the side. I might take that off if I dont like it

and finally, I ordered the Maxtrax trax system for snow/sand.. this will be used a lot. I got for of them. their gonna end up on the rack! and ordered their connecting pins so that I can double the surface of each one.. pretty cool system, I've actually seen it at SEMA last year and have seen it used in person. I really like it

nothing much on the Jeep yet, i'll post some pics as things start rolling again. the front hydro assist is getting installed at this time

EDIT:

I'm swapping out the BDS coils to OME 2" (old man emu) coils

here are some "real" pics of the corners

I don't think I mentioned that I'm adding a 3rd brake light

It's AEV's CHMSL, it goes behind the spare tire.. pretty clean if you ask me

I know you guys appreciate custom work

box might have to go back to PSC because it needs A LOT! of modding to make it fit. since the box on my jeep is a mercedes box. so to save money and time. I might get the Howe box but will have issues with the hoses talking to Howe to figure it out.
some trimming to the grill might be needed since i'm not running a body lift.

Also, the rack will probably mount to the corners instead of the frame. I think it's bad how Gobi had the rack tie to the frame like that. it limits body movement over the frame so I guess this will come as a bonus.

thoughts?

Default Haha!

I just asked in your "20's or 22" thread about the LJ progress and here go updating it. Sweet The mopar corners look really nice, will they be in the way of the Gobi rack?

lol.. yea were gonna have the rack mount to the corners instead of the frame! that way the tub/frame can flex like they normally do. i'm just worried how its gonna look because I will take the rack off sometimes. if it's on the bottom corner then that would be perfect!

Yes sir, with that rack tied into your frame it sure will end up beating the body up somewhere once you start putting that suspension to work. Not sure how you are working the point of attachment into the Mopar corners, but I am sure it will be easy to fab up an clean disconnect for the roof rack. Maybe look at aircraft or marine specific pieces for ideas if you need a smooth/flush look.

yea.. I was going over it with the tech today.. he thinks it's an easy task.. I just want it to mount low.. and lets hope that the load rate doesn't get affected!

the Jeep is pretty much done. just some small things left to take care of

1- need to weld the rack to the rear corners and remove tubes at the same time.
2- check transmission leak (after rebuild it seems like it's got a small leak)
3- install rocker guards. and take off for paint.
4- custom shackle mounts.
5- finish up the PSC install (using the PSC box).
6- install airlocker air gauge.
7- balance wheels and tires.
8- custom exhaust.
9- test fit rack before going to paint. that kindda goes with #1
10- test fit rear gate hinges/savvy lights with added corners and tire carrier (check for clearance mainly).
11- check engine light (i'm pretty sure it's the O2 sensors).
12- test fit steering box skid.
13- DISASSEMBLY.

---------------------------------------^all of the above shouldn't take more than a week!^---------------

14- Send bumpers/ axles/ corners/ door and hood hinges to sand blast and powder coat .
15- install stock LJ axles for paint.
16- Paint Jeep.

-----------------------^Painters might take the longest time in this stage! time line TBD^---------------------------

17- install all powder coated parts/FINAL ASSEMBLY.
18- Line-X interior.
19- install all interior.

--------------------------------------^1 to 2 weeks at most^----------------------------------------

20- drive home with a big smile
21- LJ photo shoot.
22- LJ/JK photo shoot.

--------------------------------------------------------------^4 days at most^------------------------------------

23- Ouray Expedition.

---------------------------------------^My late July trip^-------------------------------------
