Default SYE question on 3 inch lift

Looking at 3 inch lifts for my 2000 TJ and have been discussing with a couple local 4WD
Shops. Options offered so far include:

1. Rubicon Express kit
2. Teraflex kit
3. BDS kit

The shop that sells RE and TF warned that I may need to add a SYE to address potential drive shaft issues. He said wait until lift is installed and see IF it's needed?

The shop that sells BDS said there won't be any issues with the drive shaft?

So who's right? Any info would be appreciated.

I had my TJ with a 4" lift for five years without the SYE kit and not a vibration. However, it has become fairly inexpensive preventative hardware. If you can do it yourself, go for it. If you don't wheel hard or drive too much, then skip it.

On a 3" kit you shouldnt need an SYE. Not all 3" kits are equal. A taller one might require it.

2000 TJ Sahara. I went with a Rubicon Express Super-flex 3.5" & 1" body lift. SYE & New Drive Shaft. 35" BFG MT K2. Upgraded Tie-rod. Fox Shocks w/Resevoirs. Why do it twice. Good Luck!
