Default Vertically Driven Products 750W Jeep Subwoofer / Trunk room issue for subwoofer ??

Has anyone had any experience with this powered sub? What do you think of the quality? Is it total garbage? I'm considering one for my 2006 Rubi (soft-top).

What I'm looking for: I am not interested in boom-booming around the 'hood with some over-the-top ass-kicking system (anymore - ha!), I am not that interested in building my own box and customizing unless as a last resort; and I don't want anything easily spotted by lurkers; but want a decent bass without throwing away $ for something that will fail next year, or ending up with a sorry mismatch with my current components. I have Alpines hiding in the sound bar and plan on putting a pair in the dash; I plan on hiding a 6.5" Kicker in the console; and installing a 10" x 7" x 2" JL Audio amp in the trunk, supposedly next to this thingy I am asking about, if it would even fit as I can't find its measurements anywhere. (Oh, and I have a 1yr old Pioneer head unit. Can't exactly keep that from prying eyes - even a missing faceplate makes things intriguing - but what can you do? )

And as far as trunk room for a sub in general, I haven't seen any other alternatives to the size of the VDP except for dropping something in this thing, but it seems like it wouldn't allow for good sound output and there would be no room left for the amp. And sadly the Stealthbox is not available for the 2006.

Well...no matter what I end up doing...I've finally accepted the fact that I will no longer be able to use the trunk to haul groceries.

Opinions/suggestions?

Thank you in advance!
