Came from a Subaru STi. I don't mind being passed. Mpg is the same. I don't care about looks too much now. Just a different mentality. Funny because Jeep is now quieter than my STi. I love it.

Purchased my first Jeep 2012 Rubicon at 57 yr's young, I owned many vehicles over the years but I must say this is the most fun to drive especially with no tops or doors here in sunny CA.
A few weeks ago I was on the sands in Pismo beach and a big old 4X4 Chevy club cab pulling a 28 ft travel trailer was stuck in the sand having wandered to far in from the shoreline. They were a couple of youngsters needing help and they didn't think this old fella in a Jeep could help them out, we hooked up the tow strap I put it down in low range, 2nd gear on the 6spd stick, locked both axles and pulled that behemoth with trailer about 100 yds onto the packed sand near the shore.
What a beast and I loved the expression on the faces of those young bucks..

Thumbs up

Jeep had me at "Since 1941". Well that and the 3.6 V6. There was no way I wasn't getting a Wrangler.

I love my '14 red 4 door wrangler. its the most luxurious vehicle ive ever owned, and itll go anywhere you can go with 11 inches of ground clearance!

I mean srsly, 4 lo, swaybar off, traction control off, crawl up the side of a mountain verticle incline beyond 45 degrees? no problem, 12k pound winch!

You are definitely not the only one. Since I was little I had always wanted a classic mustang. And when I got my permit, I took every penny I have saved during my life to go buy my 1968 mustang. It ran decently well, but after 3 years I had completely restored it with my dad and granddad. I started to realize that it wasn't a "Daily driver" kind of car and decided to buy a 2005 Mustang to suppliment it. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it, but something wasnt right. I hunt and fish and do anything you can imagine outdoors and during the winter I found myself stuck at home instead of in the woods. So after 4 years and a LOT of jeep envy... I went out and bought my 08 JKX with 36K miles on it. I've had it about 2 months now and I have been caught in rain and sub 45 degree weather with the top off (Hard top frustrations!!) and even though I can't feel my face or hands I know I'm smiling every second. In 2 months, I've found the vehicle I will continue to buy and build for the rest of my life. 4" lift with 35's, bumpers and a whole bunch of other stuff later... My girlfriend had to get one too and her and her brother bought '12 Sports. Then she continued to pry at me till I threw some more aggressive tires on it... And now she wants a 2.5" BB and 33's oh well, gotta keep the misses happy and if shes as hooked as I am, it's gonna be a wonderful life!!.....

As long as she doesn't take up al my mod money in her sport

Yep, Jeeps have a certain charisma that bring joy to their owners. I've owned a plethora of muscle cars (and still have a Camaro), but the Jeep is my choice for daily transportation. For me, cruising washboarded trails and bounding over rocks is as much fun as when I ran two laps on the Nurburgring in 2011. Totally different in every regard, but equally as fun.

To clarify, I've still got the 68 mustang no way I can let a first car like that go! haha.

Very nice. My first car was a 67 GTO. Poor thing rusted to death and I replaced it with a 4th Gen Camaro. I understand the keep factor. I drive the Camaro about once per month, but it still owns half the garage 12 years later.

I love the old GTO's, I swear I grew up in the wrong time period! Luckily, my jeep won't fit in the garage due to width and height so the Mustang stays there. I wish I drove her once a month, but I never seem to be able to find the time. Fired her up about 2 weeks ago after about 20 minutes of cranking and an engine flood.

And btw, Williamsburg is one the most beautiful towns in Virginia, a good place to call home!
