I am new to owning a jeep but not a stranger to the wave as my buddy has had jeeps. Seems like the wave is much more illusive now that I am watching for it. I am starting to wave no matter what to keep a tradition alive. I feel like it is my duty to wave at every jeep passing.

I do the same thing, but sadly I have stopped waving to any jeep that is not a wrangler. I know it's wrong, but all of the teenage girls and soccer moms look at me funny when I wave at them in their GC's and Patriots.

I'd be cool with either a headlight flash or the wave during daylight. I try to give modded-up Cherokees a wave, too.

Jeep wave - Yes. I send out more waves then I receive but I'm hopeful that more will participate.

I reserve flashing lights to either
A) Obstacle in roadway ahead (such as deer).
B) warn oncoming drivers of a speed trap ahead.
C) let passing driver know it's safe to re-enter lane (I briefly turn off the lights instead of flashing during night time so as not to blind the other driver).

I always wave at all Wranglers during the day. I started to flash my fog lights at night to other Wranglers. I heard about others doing this and thought that would be the best night Jeep wave.

I always wave at all the jeeps other than the soccer mom rides. Both of my grandkids are into the jeep wave to. Kind of upsets them when they don't get a wave back.

Around here, you're much less likely to get a return wave from a JKU.
