Default Military Trailers

I am looking at getting a military surplus trailer. I see a lot for sale on govliquidation.com in the M1101,M1102, and A1,A2, and A3's. My question is what would be best for a JKU. I have heard the 1101 and 1102 are the exact same, but the 1101 is lighter being that its aluminum. So thats what I think I am leaning towards. I like the 101 and 416's, but they are to small for my liking, I want to be able to haul my four wheeler if I need to. So my main questions are is the 1101 a good match with a lifted JKU and what all is involved when buying one of these trailers from this site, I am in TN. Also do they have to be registered? Thanks

I helped a friend modify a 102. I was looking at them for a while but took a diferent route. The issue with Aluminum is that everything cost a bit more to do. Materials, welding, etc. But if you have no issues with that, then go aluminum. The benefit is lighter and less corrosion issues. Not sure I said anything of value, or more that the obvious.

i would like to get my hands on one of the aluminum ones (m1101 I think) but haven't been able to find one. i want to use it for a surf fishing trailer to pull behind the jeep and be able to haul a couple kayaks, a tent and all of our fishing gear.

Great idea. Thanks for the link. Love the concept of turning one of these into an adventure trailer. Cheers!

I ended up buying an m416 it's smaller than the m1101 and others like it but is perfect behind a jeep, I plan to add a roof top tent at some point in time but idk when I will be able to gather funds for that part.

Dr.dirty did you buy your trailers from the place in Barstow? If so do you have the website? Thanks

Default Jeep JK with M101A1 and M1102

Hi Folks

I have an M101A1 and M1102. Both are great trailers. The M1102 is brand new and never saw any use.

I use an airbag suspension system to adjust for trailer loading
