does your hardtop have a wiper? Doesn't the wiper hit your mount? I also like the centered look, but don't think there is enough clearance for the wiper on my '11 JKU.

If you're getting good readings I wouldn't worry about it.
Flapwheel would've worked great but I didn't have any handy at the time.
I did it because I didn't want to run a separate ground from the antenna mount to the gate. I did run an extra ground from the gate to the tub just in case the hinges lose conductivity as some have mentioned.
Post a pic (or link) of your install I'd like to see it.

Here are the measurements of the antenna mount from the top forward egde closest to window. Measurements were taken from the top forward edge of the swing gate.
2-1/4" above edge of swing gate.
9/16" aft of the top fwd edge of swing gate. Used a level and straight edge for measurements.
Hope this helps.

Well, I don't know if I get good readings... I installed this cb 3 weeks ago, and, there is nobody online in my area. The only thing I hear are the truckers (weak signal) on the highway, very far from my house.

I will go wheeling in about one month with friends. I can't wait to try this small Cobra

Thanks for the reply
