Default Alarm

I know a few of you guys have Radar / microwave alarm system setups. I'm curious as to how touchy they are? My neighbor had an alarm on his camaro, and I remember one night it kept going off (when he first moved in) because the alarm kept tripping due to his car being parked on a hill and such?

I would like added security, but I don't want to be woken up every 10 minutes because it's too sensitive. So do you guys that own them think they're okay?

Who here has the FM pager style alarms too? I'm interested in having a key fob that will alert me if my alarm is set (I can keep my top and doors off while I'm at work?! (The parking lot is right near my end of the pharmacy).

Also, who has the Mopar alarm? How does that baby stack up?

Hey I got one installed on mine, like a month ago. You could always adjust sensitivity.

mine is on max sensitivity, just cuz its only been a month, and I'm still psyched ab out it XD.

If you walk within 1 foot of my jeep, it lets off a warning. but thats about it. Its not that easy to set it off. unless u open a door or stick your hand in my jeep. The only time it went off by itself was, when it started raining hard. I turned it off, and left it off. I don't consider this as a security device for my car, more like a novelty. I hardly ever put it on.

I'll probably use it more in the summer, when i have the top, and doors off, and leave it abandoned in mall parking lots.

hope that was helpful.

I went to BestBuy and had a cobra installed. I forget the cost, but I was amazed at how cheap it was. It took the tech about 5 hours. He even installed a interrupt switch so I could disable the prox sensor.

At 1st it was driving me crazy (going off all the time), but then I adjusted it, and now i works great. It's just some peace of mind when you have the mygig and the top off.

I have to carry an extra fob on my key chain, but it works great.

yea mopar makes one. But I was really looking for one that has a pager on it. My bedroom is opposite my driveway so i may miss the alarm if our ac is cranking on a summer night.

I want a car alarm that shoots the person in the leg... lol

(For say a MyGig theft, or attempting to steal the whole jeep)

I don't want to kill them, just slow them down a little...

that's justified, right? I mean they are messing w/your car...

and lets face it, most 'decent' cars are $20,000 +, that' a LOT of money and YOUR time...

Humor

I remember a James Bond movie where the car alarm or defence system caused the car to blow up.
There have been times (stolen radios and other stuff) that I wanted the crook to pay.
