Default Amplified AUX speaker?

I was wondering if there is a way to amplify my aux CB speaker. I have the Cobra 75 and love it, but hate the volume of the aux speaker... especially when im on the HWY without doors or a top.

RadioShack sells this...pretty decent speaker as I remember it from days gone by.
RadioShack Amplified Communication Speaker : Communication Speakers | RadioShack.com

I imagine most large truck-stop CB shops may have something similar.

I have a uniden 5 watt right now. The link you've provided says it's an 8 watt. Is that a big significance in decibels? In other words, is that a big enough jump to hear my CB in a naked jeep at 65mph? I can hear others, but I can't make out what they are saying. The wind makes it tough! I already have the speaker mounted on the roll bar near my head.... Not sure what else I can do.

The difference between 5 and 8 watts would likely be too insignificant to notice, unless you go with something very specialized like this:Gap Hear It Speaker

About the only other thing I could suggest would be running it through a small stereo amp.

The best external speaker I've found is the Motorola communications speaker. You can find all the time at Ham swap meets or surplus electronic stores. They sound great and are durable. I've used them for the ham radios and cb radios in the car and at home with my police scanner. Usual cost is $8-$15

Yep, I'm a fan of those also. I just finished my CoolTech/Firestik 2-meter/TM-D700 install today and have my Motorola speaker mounted just behind the console.
