Default Antenna Hits Garage Ceiling!

I just finished installing the Cobra 75 and a 4' Firestick. Install was a piece of cake, thanks for people who have posted here on how to install, ground, wire, etc. - Thanks!

But my 4' firestick hits the ceiling of my garage, so I will have to take the antenna before I pull in my garage and put it on after I pull out :( . Does anyone else have this 'problem'?

Cut a slot in the garage roof or fit a lift kit to the garage?

Otherwise relocate it to a lower point or use a shorter aerial.
Mine hits the rollerdoor on the way in, but not the roof once it's in. I mounted my 5 ft areial on corner of the back bar because it looks cooler there than on the front, though on the front was a good way to tell if a carpark was oo low

what mount did you use?

you can also get a quick disconnect for it, also if you got the mount below the quick disconnect you can try mounting it upside down on the bottom bolts for the tire carrier

I used that Quadratec mount and mounted it on the bottom bolts of the tire carrier..as when i tried it on the top bolts the antenna was 4" higher than my garage ceiling.

I may go for a 3' firestick..rather than taking this 4' one on and off..

It's not as much of pain as you might think, just make it part of your normal trail prep. That's what I did with my four foot, until I let my husband drive home from the trail one night and he didn't listen to me when I told him not to drive into the garage yet. Antenna got caught in the overhead door and ripped out. But even my new three foot one doesn't fit in the garage. It's really no trouble to put it on while I'm loading up the jeep, and take it off when I unload the jeep.

I have this problem after I moved to a smaller house with shorter garage door.

I solved it by using a fold-over adapter at the mount. I have to get out and fold it over before pulling in, but that's okay since I have to get out and open the garage door by hand anyway.

A low profile spring should work for him as well.....

I just don't pull all the way in. I don't have a garage door though.

I have a 2 foot mounted full time, which clears the garage door by about 3 inches. I keep a four-foot in the jeep that I can use when I need a bit more distance. But, honestly the 2-foot has worked everywhere I’ve needed it.
