Default ARR Overhead mount

I was wondering if anyone out there has the Arizona Rocky Road over head radio mount? I have one of the larger and heavy CB's (it weighs about 5 pounds). I was wondering if this mount would handle it?

Thanks,

Brian

Brian, I was wondering the same thing.
Iv also got a Cobra 18 thats good size and looking for another place to mount my ham radio.
From the pics Iv seen, they look like they would work.
I also wonder if it would work with a sunscreen from Dirty Dog?

I have a dirty dog sunscreen - I would be VERY surprised if it wouldn't fit over a mount like this. Once you've had it on for a while, there's a fair amount of give there. Remember that most of what holds that sunscreen in place is elastic cords.

Default Ordered!

After an email to ARR I was assured that the mount can more than handle a five pound radio so I placed an order. I'll update when it arrives and when I manage to get it installed.

JKGuy any reason you chose the ARR over the Tuffy over head console?

I think the one from ARR, can accomodate more than one radio.
Which IMHO, would work out great for the guys that want to run ham and cb, like myself.

Man did i screw up with this! My brother and i fab'd this same bar 2 years ago before they did. and actually made stronger and better. i should have got a patent'd!!!!!

it have an "original" Cobra 29 CB and it's way more than 5 lbs. it hold very well. i have that radio plus a marine radio mounted as well and there is absolutly no deflection under the weight.
