Which blue parrot model did you get? Have you used it with the top off. A lot of models have the noise reduction but I guess the wind noise is too much for them.

I tried the plantronics 520 today. It is supposed to have noise reduction and a special mic to eliminate wind. The person I called couldnt understand a word I was saying.

I am starting to think that the ones that clip to the visor or dash may be a better option. Just because I bet there is less wind up there. My face and head take a lot of wind, probably because the doors are off.

I did run it through my GPS bluetooth and my wife said it sounded fine on her end, just cant remember if my doors were off too. I dont think they were. I will have to run that test again.

I have the Jawbone, it is excellent and works for me with doors off, but it fits my ear well and that is important. It does not fit in my wifes ear good and she has trouble hearing others, they hear her fine.

She just got this...

It plays through the radio which is cool, the phone rings and shuts the stereo off and turns the phone on, so far it has worked well with doors off. The only time we had a problem was driving 70 with strong cross winds of about 30mph......that seemed to be a bit much. Overall it is a good unit.

So what do you do with that one. Play your music through your phone? If you are playing your music through an Ipod or the CD player, I am assuming the music doesn't cut off when the phone rings, correct???

I use the Jawbone in my Jeep, the wife uses the Parrot in hers.

The music does stop reguardless of the source, when the phone rings, once you end the call the music resumes and the volume slowly goes back to where it was. My guess is this is to keep from blowing your speakers if the music came back on full volume. It also has a voice calling feature so you don't have to dial, just say the name and the phone dials for you. When you want to search for a number just push a button and it says the names in your address book through the speakers. You also can push a button and say the number and it will dial it for you. It truly is a cool unit. When my Jawbone gives up I am replacing it with the parrot.

A quick piece of advice if you decide to go this route. Place the mic towards the center console and not on the door side. They have 2 mics one for noise cancelling and one for your voice, when by the door the wind does not allow it to cancel out like it should. Once we moved it to the center console it worked great.

Thats cool. I am still confused at how the headunit (while playing a cd, radio,Ipod, etc)knows to quit playing when a call comes in. Is the parrot connected to the aux. jack or something? (because the 6cd player head unit isnt bluetooth capable, is it.?)

The Parrot unit when installed goes between your head unit and your speaker wires, the head unit is still playing but the Parrot cuts the feed and switches the feed to your phone. When the call ends it switches the feed back to your stereo.

I am not "stereo smart" so I hope I am making sense. The Parrot has a little control box about 1.5 inches by 2 inches that goes behind your dash.
