Best CB for the Money
I am currently in the market for a new CB radio. I like the look of the Cobra 29 LX BT. However, I am looking for something that gets good reception, decent range, and anything else that would be important. Bluetooth is a plus, as well as the PA function. It also needs to be able to fit in the Tuffy Overhead console. Any input would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

It takes a little adapting but why doesn't with these things. It was a fun project.

I have a Cobra 29 in my Tuffy console. Fit is tight but it is in there. I did instal a L adapter on the back so the coax didn't bind up. I also had to drill a couple different mounting holes to position it correctly so the door would close.
It takes a little adapting but why doesn't with these things. It was a fun project.

Thank you for the reply. Could you please add a few more pictures, if possile in better lighting conditions, so that I might see the front and back of the unit. And if you could also include what all you had to do to make this unit work with the Tuffy console. Thank you.

Alright here are a few more crap cell phone pics.
To mount the CB in the box I used the standard bracket that comes with the CB. I just cut the middle section out creating two L brackets. Reason I did this was I used the bracket on the bottom of the CB. If I left it in one piece it would block the sound. In the bottom picture you can see the two screws that I used to mount the L brackets.
I also cut a hole in the back of the box to run the wires out and to the passenger side A pilar. The directions have you run the wires back across the box and to the sound bar. I chose to go to the A pilar so I could get a shorter power wire run. You will also notice a ferrite bead. I had a lot of noise and it was an attempt to quite everything.
The last photo shows how much the knobs stick out. Plenty of room to close it up. The L coax adapter allowed me to position the CB further back to allow it to close.
