CB Cobra 29LTB Above the mirror
I had to have a big trucker CB. I've had all the cheapies since I was a young lad. Funny thing is, a "real" CB like the Cobra 29 is only $109-$149 or so depending on model. As Jeep mods go, this is one of the cheapest I've done.

The Cobra 29 is kinda big and heavy for above the mirror but it can be made to fit. I removed the plastic header and the top of the CB case and drilled through both and put little nuts and bolts through to solidly mount the CB cover to the header. Then, I put the CB back together. So the CB and plastic header make one assembly. Then I just reinstalled the header into place with the wires behind it. I thought that would be sturdy enough but it wasn't.
So after a couple of weeks, I made a little bracket and attached it to the Cobra supplied mounting bracket and that clips onto the little factory loops inside (for bikini straps and the like). That made it completely strong.
