Default CB Help

Bought my 2010 2-DR Rubicon and it came with a CB installed. Just no antenna. The antenna mount is on my spare tire mount. The cable is ran and my CB has power and turns on, just I have never used one before. I'm gonna plug an antenna into it and see what I get. Can anyone help me?

Sounds like you have everything covered. after you get the antenna you will prob wanna get the SWR tuned. One of your fellow jeep buds locally might have the equipment., Either that or any major truck stop usually has a guy there who does it.

Just try to not key the radio till you get an antenna on it.

Would keying the hand mic hurt my cb or cable? I really don't want to have to replace it already, and where else could I get it tuned? Radio shack?

It would hurt the cb but once or twice ain't gonna hurt it.

Your options are to spend some money (up to $40) and get an swr meter yourself and tune it or fine someone that has one or a truck stop that does it. With firestick antennas it's quite a simple process. Let us know which antenna you get and someone here will know how to tune it if you get your hands on a meter.

If you have any Ham radio buddies near buy they should have the knowledge and gear to tune it as well. Maybe even your local Ham club can help you out.
