Default CB radio mounting question.

Hey everyone. I have a CB radio, antenna, and coax cable. I have a tuffy overhead mount inbound but I was hoping to use the radio this weekend. I was thinking of hooking everything up and just throwing it under one of the front seats temporarily until I get my mount. Will the radio work without it being hard mounted? Its a Cobra 29. I didnt see anywhere in the install instructions where the chassis of the CB needed to be grounded but I just wanted to double check first.

Thanks,
Rob

no need to ground the radio itself
more accurately put, no need to ground the mount
I've a 29 myself mounted in the glovebox.
mount just provides stability
unfortunately, one issue the 29's seem to have is the speaker failing due to vibration
on the bright side they have both pa and external speaker connections
