Here is one more excuse to buy one.... I just upgraded to the new
Cobra29ltd bt. It has Bluetooth in it! Incoming calls are heard through the speaker in the CB and you use the mic to talk to your callers..

A-MEN

Tell them to get their fat asses out of the left lane, and let traffic by, especially during the morning commute!
(drive this morning was blocked several times by trucks )

I agree with above posts, if you wheel with a club, or just meeting people on the trail, it's a very nice thing to have.

Also listening to truckers on the open road is pretty entertaining sometimes.

I just listen to the truckers... its like porn but nauseating... if i ever mess with 'em i am reminded of the movie "Joy Ride"

"Caaannndy Cane... where are you?"

but yeah... the trail is a must... steep hills - one person at top, give the next the go ahead... find out why everyone has stopped BEFORE getting out just in time to get back in and go...

plenty of reasons...
andthe best one is................................................ .................

you can get a cheap one 30 bucks... so a better questions is why the hell not?

For everyday use...I agree CB's are not that useful unless you enjoy talking to truckers passing through the area.

On the trail however, they are very handy and I always use it and would recommend them to anyone off-roading. I carry a few spare handhelds that I've had for years so others without them can join in the communication.

When I installed mine it was great to use on my trip to Colorado. Got a major heads-up on speed traps, one was over 30 miles away!

It's also entertaining to listen to truckers while on the interstate.

My CB also has a mode to listen to weather stations, which is great feature to have.

It's not something I use everyday, hell I'm the only one I know that has one, but I'm glad I installed it. You can get one cheap and they are easy to install. Besides, your Jeep looks cooler with a CB antenna!
