I have the Cobra 75WX ST and its awesome. The unit comes off just as easily as taking the mic off a standard CB, the only difference is that when you take it off there is nothing but a wire showing.

If they want my cheezy $25 CB they can have it. Hopefully they grab the CB and not tear apart the dash to get the equally cheezy stock stero.

This may sound ghetto... but I put a towel or hat over my CB... out of sight, out of mind hopefully. I have my CB on the dash, so putting a folded towel over it makes it look like I'm just laying a towel on my dash.

Most thieves will walk by vehicles and look in. If they don't see anything, they'll move on. (not always, but more often than not.)

I remove my GPS mount even if I don't even have the GPS unit in the Jeep, just in case they think it's in the glove box or something. You gotta wonder if thieves nowadays even know how to unhook the CB antenna I've heard lots of stories about car jackers not being able to drive stick shifts when they steal cars, so they get a few feet down the road, get out and run away, lol.

I actually chose to install my CB inside the center console so when the top is off I can just lock the console with no worries.

Default Here's what I did...

Just because I am paranoid and don't want to tempt anybody. Upon installing the CB, I spliced into the power cords and added quick disconnects. When I am not using it, the CB goes in my Tuffy glove-box. When I need to use it, just pop it out of the glove-box and connect the wires.

I use the Blackwidow alarm with a radar sensor when the top is down and doors off. The optional sensor fills the cabin with radio waves. If someone put their hand inside of the open cabin the alarm goes off. I have not have an issues with either of my radios (CB and HAM).

It's not full proof, if a thief wants you stuff bad enough they are going to get it. That's why I have insurance also.
