Need some help here. I installed my cb a few months back. Tested it with another guys. It worked fine sending and receiving. I tried to use it the other day and all I tx is static. My buddy says it sounds like feedback. Any idea what it could be??

 

What cb?

Is the static present immediately when you turn it on?

What happens when you adjust the squelch or RF gain?

 

It's a uniden. Not sure of model. But I don't here it. It's only when I transmit.

 

Did you test SWR when you first installed the CB?

 

Actually. It didn't start happening until after I put the meter on it.

 

If you transmit and your swr is not correct, you will destroy your transmitter. If you adjusted your SWR and it is correct and you still have the problem, then try with the engine off. Then try your friends mic. Still have static? You may have killed it.
