Default CB Transmitting Question

So I finally got my new Cobra 29 LCD LX CB installed Tuesday night. I was able to mount the antenna with a heavy duty spring and quick release connection to the front of the license bracket. I tuned the radio and my SWR is between 1.2 (CH 8-40) and 1.4 (CH 1-7).

My problem is this. No one can hear me when I transmit. I've set up a system where a buddy with another working cB was near me (within yelling distance) to help me check my radio. It ( my radio) shows I'm transmitting, but my buddy can't hear me and his radio is showing that I'm not transmitting a signal when mine does.

Everything is grounded. I can hear everyone else. We have adjusted everything on the radio that we know to adjust.

Any ideas?

Matt

Bad mic? The button is obviously working, since your TX meter jumps, but maybe the mic itself is screwy? Same problem on both low and high channels?

This is basic and I'm sure already covered, but to be sure. Is dynamic/Mic gain all the way or at least halfway up? Clockwise....also I've had the same type issues and realized I accidentally had it on pa instead of cb. If that were the case I don't think you'd hear other people either.
