Default Cobra 75 Hack question

I should probably start this off by saying I know very little about how CB's work. That being said, I'm a nerd, and a tinkerer.. and want to find a solution to my problem.

I have a Cobra 75, and it's cool. Fit my requirements for why I bought it.. 'Fit in glove box' + 'works'. I am however hoping to find a way to improve it.

I'm wondering, how difficult would it be to open the unit, and solder/splice etc a 1/8" cable to the speaker output of this CB? I want to do this so I can route my CB through my speakers. When I'm wheeling I generally don't have any music on, and this would greatly improve the ability to hear what's being said over the radio.

Any thoughts? Is it at least feasible? If anyone has opened one of these perhaps you snapped a picture and could share..

Any help greatly appreciated.

You know the "box" part of this cb has an audio out for running an external speaker right? Why not just run an external speaker or, like some on this forum have done, run a male/male audio cable from the box to your "input" on the front of the radio?

+1. I ran like this until I bought an external speaker. Just switch your radio to Aux and you are in business. Too bad the plug turns off the regular speaker.

Running a cord is nice but TaoTronics (and quite a few other brands) make a bluetooth jack which will allow for you to pipe your cb audio into your bluetooth enabled stereo. amazon.com/TaoTronics-TT-BA01-Wireless-Bluetooth-Adapter/dp/B004B8GF7Y/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1335799722&sr=8-2

I will have to keep the bluetooth thing in mind. My wife has a '10 grand caravan (company car) with upgraded stereo we'll be keeping when it hits the 60k mark and she turns it in.
For now I just keep an aux cord plugged into the box, and stretch from glove box to aux jack when needed. works great.

Wouldn't you have to keep your stereo on BT mode rendering it inoperable for music or hands free phone use?
