Cobra 75 is locking open when TX
I have a new CB problem with my Cobra 75. If I use the PTT to transmit it will lock up and continue to Transmit even when I release the PTT button. I have found after playing around with it that I can push the PTT button quickly twice and it will release.
I have also found that while it is continuing to transmit after releasing, it is also receiving. If I hold the unit close to the external speaker it will feed back on itself.
Any thoughts?

Check your isolators around the antennae mount. I accidently had one of my plastic rings around backwards with my ultra mount after I replaced an antennae. Had pretty much the exact symptoms you're describing.
It would receive fine once turned on, but if I transmitted it would lock open. Sometimes even stay that way with an on/off. Turning the Jeep off would "reset" it until I transmitted again.
I got a hold of CoolTech, flipped that ring, and poof, problem solved. Was basically a grounding issue.

In my experience getting Mfg's to honor stuff like this entails a much larger pain in the butt than the $80 purchase price warrants, but to each his own. Good luck to the OP if he chooses to go that route -- mine's expired anyway no doubt being a two year old unit.
