I've got this radio in-bound and am planning an install next week. I'm interested in this thread, but not sure I am understanding what was going on. Is it that simply the proximity of the Coax to other wires in the Jeep can cause these "ghost" occurrences -- lights on, wipers wiping, etc.?

I moved mine away from the bundle of wires under the right side kick pannel and my problems went away. It seems that the coax being so close to them was causing the problem. At one point it had set off the cel and I found 11 codes as well as the airbag light.

OK. Thanks. I get it. I'll keep the Coax isolated.

Hi!

Can you post a pic with direction, on where did you run the coax from?

I got same issue with HAM bands. Mainly 40 and 80 meters, Airbag light goes on. The Antenna setup is complitely different, but the issue looks same.

Currently got multiband HF ATU HF Whip, from 1.5 till 30Mhz, with TS-480 (at the moment 100 Watts), grounded on frame and body.

Thanks in advance.

I ran mine up the sport cage and along the top bars all the way to the windshield then down the interior windshield trim into the dash. It's easy and the sport bar cover hides the wire.
