I did a search for Cobra 75 and saw no right-ups. Can you post a link of a right up of the install for the cobra 75? I bought one about 4 months ago and haven't tackled that install yet. I've never installed a CB. Thanks!
The Cobra 75's range is about the same as all normal CBs. If you antenna is in a good spot and the geography isn't limiting, line of sight is your range. If you have buildings or trees it's another story.
Keep in mind the recipient of your transmission needs to have squelch set low enough to hear it. I can't tell you how many times I have seen where that is the limiting factor...

The Cobra 75 has a 4 watt output like any "legal" CB.
The transmission strength (and hence distance) is a function of how much of that 4 watts leaves you antenna and gets transmitted into the air.
A good antenna with good installation and tuned for unity SWR is the best you can do.
My transmission on the interstates based on trucker (driver) replys is 4 to 5 miles.
In town and on the trail it can be less depending on terrain and trees (pine needles hurt the most).
