connect the external speaker out on the CB to the AUX in plug in the head unit

I was only able to find one CB that is 1 DIN in size (the Cobra 18WX). I ordered the new head unit and a double DIN dash trim from Crutchfield. The mounting was straight forward but you will need to remove the dash bar (the same piece the double DIN radio install state).
That looks great!

Sorry to revive a 1 year old thread, but DANG! This setup is NICE! So, I'm shopping for the Cobra 18WX ST II cb, and trying to decide on the head unit. Will this setup accommodate "any" single din radio?

I was wondering if anyone had done a write-up on the actual install. That would be SO helpful.

Yes, any single DIN radio will fit. I have a Sony in mine. The install is no different then installing the stereo, you are just installing the CB along with it.

Which double DIN mount is used? I assume the actual one for the JK would not fit. how about a link to it? Please.

Very nice install. Do you think a Cobra 29LTD would fit?
