Feedback through aftermarket speakers/amp.
Hello,
I recently installed my uniden 520 cb with a pa speaker, really no problems with the install, grounded the tailgate and everything. I tuned it after the install and got 1.5 on channel 1 and roughly 2 on channel 40. The problem is when I turn it off the pa mode to the radio mode, I talk through the mic and can hear myself on my speakers in the rest of the jeep. I have an alpine amp under my driver and passenger seat for some aftermarket speakers. I read up a on this a little bit and believe to think that running the coax under my seat, near the amp is what is causing my speakers to pick up whatever I say in the mic. Does anyone know of a way to fix this? My amps run to the battery so when I start the vehicle they turn on also.

Putting ferrite chokes on the speaker leads, as close to the speakers as possible, right at the terminals is best, that should help.

Loop the wire around one half with the criss-crossed side of the loop on the inside, and snap it closed, don't just pass the wire straight through the middle.

So I went and got some from radioshack and put them over my tweeter wires just to see if they silenced those and the problem still persists. Does it make a difference if they werent on all the speakers?

yeah except my amps are on all the time unless the vehicle is off, so I took them off the battery last night and i coudlnt hear myself through the door speakers anymore. So like i said before i am going to get some switches so i can turn them off whenever i need.
