If you want to use more than one antenna, you can mount one to each side of the tire carrier. Also, you can mount it "upwards" to get the best antenna height or flip it over to bring the antenna height down. (See second picture for examples.)

Any more antennas and you will be mistaken for a Russian fishing trawler!

Looks to be a Larsen 2/70 like I have on my Rubicon.

Nice setup gs2, I never really though about a hood mount, but it is obviously a great idea.
What mobile unit are you using?

VX-7R HT. Diamond K400C Mount w/ UHF base. Diamond CR320A. It seems to do pretty well. Unfortunately I don't talk too much on it during the week. My commute is only 10 miles so I am not mobile for very long.

On THE LIST: Yaesu FT-8900 Quad Band. I would keep the same mount but change to something like a CR-8900 or some other quad band antenna. It doesn't do as well on the lower bands but it would allow me to toe the waters. I just have to make General first.

I'm using a IC-208H. I've got the radio mounted under the passenger seat and the remote head mounted on the windshield frame over the rear view mirror. Works great and very discrete.

That looks like a Diamond K400. It pivots so it can be mounted to the hood or on the side of the tailgate. YOU CANNOT PUT IT ON TOP OF THE TAILGATE WITH A HARDTOP. The tab where his wire goes under the hood does not allow the tailgate to close into the hardtop. I don't know about the soft top.
