So I am using the tie down attachment point, I pulled back carpet/plastic and sanded away a good size circle and I terminated the ground wire with a soldered on crimp ring (not sure if that is the name of it but it came with the gate mount kit

did the same thing on mine, used the passenger side rear tie down bolt grinding the paint of the body underneath, the ground wire that came with the kit was jus long enough for that, if the gate mount is on the passenger side tire bracket bolts.
