Is it too big or something? I was hoping to upgrade my radio and know it won't fit where my current radio is overhead. If you get a quote/reason why the normal one won't work keep us posted.

I just sent him another e-mail asking why it won't fit. It seems to be a simple mount. I guess due to the resistor heater coils on the back of my Galaxy would be the only thing I could see. That's the same reason it won't fit in the Tuffy. Either Tuffy or Galaxy is wrong on the measurements, cause I checked again this morning and the Galaxy says it is 9 3/4" long and the Tuffy fits up to 10" long....Go figure! Now I might risk a 30% restocking fee from Northridge 4x4 cause of somebodies screw-up...lol

The owners manual that I found for the Galaxy DX 94HP lists the specs as 7 3/4" (W) x 2 7/8" (H) x 10 1/4" (D). Does your owners manual list it as something different? Also I got the owners manual from galaxyradios.com and cbtricks.com and they are the same manual.

Yeah that is a possibility, the heatsink from the finals might make the radio too long for either product. I'd be willing to bet galaxy doesn't include this as part of the overall length measurement, and that they only measure the metal case of the radio. If this is the case the only solution for the ARR mount would be to move everything back which could make it hard to see the controls. That would be too bad, because I thought the bar would eliminate that problem for just about any radio you would want.

He could extend the mounting surface outward some to make-up for the heat sink length. I haven't got a reply yet, but I will keep you informed. I don't think it would be too far forward to have the control panel where I couldn't see it.

I got the Galaxy measurement off of Walcott CB, which is where I purchased the radio. The specs were on the website, so I ordered both at the same time. All I know is it sucks that it don't fit! I will hate to remove it every time I go offshore, or go some where for any length of time. Totally sucks!

Yea, it does suck. So at least you know where the misinformation came from. I hope you find something that it will fit in. If not then Walcottcb should take it back since they have wrong info on their website. Good luck.

This is kinda off subject, but I noticed in your signature that you are undecided on 35's? I had GY MT/R w/Kevlar 33', got my 3" lift and went with Nitto Trail Grapplers and love em' over GY. Quieter, handle better all around. Just wanna give ya some info.
I should have gone with the Cobra 29, but I loved my Galaxy 88 when I had it in my rig and wanted to stay with them. Kick myself in the buttocks for it now.

Well you guys got me curious. I just went out to my JK (4dr, 2011) in the garage to measure the distance between the bottom center of the ARR bar to the windshield. It's about 11 and 1/2 inches. If the rig is a little over 10 inches, and about 1/3 of it is forward of the mounting bar, I don't see why it would not fit? Of course your JK is different, which could be the issue.

The measurement was taken from the holes below the ball mount back to the windshield.

I have an FTM350 mounted on the ARR bar.

I have a Galaxy DX94HHP and it fits...I have a 2012 JKU, if that makes a difference.
