I really need to get a new digital camera... :-(

I use 70cm and 2m right now but I'm going to setup a quad band antenna
so I can use 6m and 10m. In fact I'm going to run 2 antennas once the congo cage gets here I have to get a diplexer...

I used a heavy duty lip mount on the hing side of the tail gate for the 70cm/2m antenna (18 inches) works great on the repeaters in the Mpls/STP area.

I'll use a heavy duty tube mount on the congo cage for the 54 inch antenna. It's a fold over, I just hope I remember to fold it.

Join a local club it will help beyond your wildest dreams.
Just an FYI, there are a few quad band antennas out on the market right now. I even saw one five band unit. Around $100 each, less mount. I am looking real hard at the same radio, but would like to get away with a single antenna if I can. The most promising with the best reviews is the Comet UHV-4 and then Diamond makes one also.

Multi-band antennas are convenient for sure, but other than a screwdriver antenna, they are a compromise. Yes, they are making them better and better all the time, and yes, you can get on the different bands easily and they "will" perform. But traps and loading coils can be very lossy especially in a lesser quality antenna. To put it bluntly, there is nothing better than resonant antenna. The convenience of a multi-band antenna comes at a price.......performance.
