Agreed. However with so much extra, sometimes people make the mistake of coiling the excess (which cause interference) instead of stuffing it.

You're right that an electrical and RF ground are different. Although using "star washers" against the body to dig in will work as well, scraping some paint should ensure both an electrical and RF connection. (Electrical not really necessary here)

And the body should be well bonded to the frame as it is, allowing a connection to the body to work fine.

True. Could end up forming an inadvertent choke.

So i stopped 4 wheel parts and picked up a new cable and stud. Re ran the cable with no coiling. And now the reading is even higher. I took a reg wire and tried grounding it to the frame and nothing.

Did u check to see if ur antanna had a short in it?

Ok so i took of the mount a ground off the paint and the metal plate had some sort of coating on it so i removed it all to bare metal. Then i changed my antenna to a different non tunable one and got channel 1 to read right below 1.5 but channel 40 was closer to 3. Any ideas for this now. Thanks to all who are helping by the way.
