I was attracted to the design, concept, and simplicty of the Cobra 75. I was just about to buy one, but Eddie mentioned that many people (including him) have ditched it because of poor reception. I bought one of their full-size units instead. It's a bit on the bigger side, but I don't regret the decision. Just food for thought. >

Here are the pics for the antennae attachment. As you can see in the first pic, there is plenty of wire to follow - I had also zip tied to keep it in place. Second pic is the wire coming down off of the JK Ant Mount down into the rear vent. That wire then follows through and out a little port hole behind the cover plate on the inside of the tailgate (third pic). From there I just followed the lines underneath the carpet up to the driver's seat. Next post will have pics for the box/mic placement.

Here are the pics for the CB/mic placement. The first pic is the control box underneath the slide rail for the seat. At no point does it come into contact with seat or other moving parts - so it seemed like a safe place to put it - out of the way. The only trick is to have it loose to connect/disconnect the tester before securing underneath - very tight. From there, wire were run underneath the carpet to the plastic cover - easily popped up to place the wires inside and run (either from the antennae or to the power source). Third pic is the port hole I put in the seat mount. A 1/2" hole did the trick - just a little sanding to smooth it out and good to go. From there, the mic is easily attached/detached. For power, I had tapped into the power line for my KC lights I had mounted on the windshield. My power line came through the firewall behind my steering wheel (pic 5). I just popped off that side panel and ran the wire up to it. Also, the fuse for my CB is also just under my seat, so if I do blow it, I can easily access it.

ok guys Ive been reading and reading and reading and i just cant make up my mind on which CD to get. I was thinking of getting the Cobra 75WX ST or just a regular CB Box unit. Can any one chime in with their experience with the Cobra 75WX ST, is it a good buy or just buy a regular box unit.

Default Cobra is good.

I have my CB with weather radio mounted on top of center stack. Removed top piece and cut a notch for pwr and coax to pass through. Then I mounted the CB bracket on the top piece and put it back after getting the pwr and coax up to the top of the stack. This makes it very easy to operate and the unit is the same color as the rest of the stack. Have the antenna on a terraflex spare tire mount with the coax routed into the tailgate and follows the stock wireing harness up to the front. Works really well and have had good distance reports.

I've had my 75wxst installed for almost a year now and no problems on any of the offroad club runs I've been on. I didn't even tune mine and I can hear others clear and they can hear me clear even at farther distances. I bought a Firestik package from arizona rocky road that came with antenna, vehicle mount,18ft coax, and connectors. It also has an aux jack that you can plug into the aux jack on your stereo to use your stereo speakers.

This is a great idea for the install. I have my Cobra 75 on order but haven't received it yet. Thanks for posting these pics, I am definitely going to go with more of an integrated install like this now. So you mounted the base unit completely inside your glove box or underneath? Where did you order the special mounting plate from?

I actually ordered a specific jeep kit (http://www.rightchannelradios.com/je...wx-st-419.html) plus an extra base unit and antenna my truck so I can swap the hand unit accordingly.
