Default Great location

I have the Cobra 29 which is a little wider. I can't wait to go home and try to fit it.

Nice job dude that looks great! Very creative and nice to know that the compass should be relocated if you go with this mod!

NICE!!! That looks factory. Great job. If my cb were smaller, I would have gone this route.

I have looked and looked for a CB with a remote control on the Mic that I could bury behind the dash but alas I could not find 1 that would do both the old 27Meg & UHF - I really get a lot of valuable highway information from the truckers that mainly still use 27Meg - so I decided to see if I could cut my Uniden 95sx dual band (UHF & 27meg) into the top of the panel.

Step 1 Mark it out carefully - LoL
Step 2 Remove the top by prying of the top plastic cover - rear first!
Step 3 Remove - unplug the Compass / direction sensor
Step 4 Using a sharp knife carefully cut out the top of the stereo
Step 5 Same Knife - cut the plastic top
Step 6 Test fit
Step 7 reconnect compass / direction sensor
Enjoy

Hi Rubiconz
The Red Switch - is a super cool must have for all JK owners LoL
It disables ERM TC BLDL ....... - everything thing except the airbags and ABS.

you need to kill all the traction control crap if you want to drive on sand or if you get stuck in a mud hole - as you are probably aware the JK wants to always slow you down and put on the brakes as soon as traction is lost or if it thinks you are going to fast on undulating sand - very frustrating you cant do do'h nuts fishtale or drive faster than 25miles / hour on the beach or dirt roads with it interfering !!!!!!

I have tested this on the sand dunes in Australia and in factory mode the jeep is constipated - with the switch on and all the jeep computer crap off its definitely Yee Haa - enjoy cheers Hunty

I will post a write up on this!

Sorry man but I see you have not looked thru you hand book it will tell you to hold down the traction control button for more than 5 seconds and have a littel bing sound. It will turn all that crap off even the abs,

I do not mean the littel skid light, your dash will say ESP OFF .

Hi MyJK
I take it you haven't driven around Fraser island @ 80kph yet!
Sadly holding down the esp button for 7sec and actuating ESP OFF Light WILL NOT stop the Jeep from cutting the throttle and applying the brakes!!!!! nor does it turn off the brake lock diff lock system - if this is a surprise to you, try and drive @ around 40 - 50 mph on a sandy undulating beach and you will discover that the ESP OFF function is only partial off! - just for fun also try and do a doughnut or a handbrake turn , lastly try and spin all 4 wheels in a mud hole to clear the mud out of your MTZ's (if you have a rubicon with diff locks this does not apply). There is also a potential accident situation - if you are driving on slippery clay / greasey mud (similar to what you will find around Coffs Harbour) you will require complete wheel lockup to stop (the bury the brake pedal and dig a hole trick) and this is not possible in standard config - especially if you are backing down a steep muddy slope.

The ESP OFF function is only partial off.

This is why hard core Jeepers either pull the fuses or fit a bypass
cheers Hunty

if you are interested ; pm me with a phone number and Ill call you and explain - cheers Hunty
