Its time for a CB
Ok so I'm going to be buying a CB soon so I can ride out with bigger groups and go where they're required. The only problem is I know absolutely nothing about them.
What's the best I can get for the least amount of money?
Install tips?
If anyone in central Florida wants to help me install this, that'd be great!

What's you thoughts on the install. Do you want to go for the duck tape and bailing wire look or do you want something that looks factory?
Lots of options and lots of opinions. I can only tell you about mine (my personal experience).
I wanted a decent CB with the least amount of modification (holes). I also wanted something that looked clean. Like it really belongs.
I chose the Cobra 75 kit from CoolTechLLC.com because it fit my requirements best. I've had it for almost a year and still love it.
I live in Lakeland and it comes in handy on I-4. Truckers give you heads up on wrecks and alternate routes. The range is 2 to 5 miles depending on trees, buildings and terrain (yes there are hills [and gyp stacks] in the Florida Highlands).
As you can see from my picks, it's very inconspicuous when you disconnect the handset and put it in the console for safe keeping.

I really like how clean this setup looks. I don't plan on using it all the time so I think this will be a great setup for me.

This is how I did mine...the cb was cheap off amazon as well as all the components. I wasnt to worried about getting the "highest quality" cb because its my first and works perfect for me. I listen to truckers and works wonderfully in groups offroad. As far as location. I wanted it to be noticable
kinda made me feel more modified and personalized I guess. And I wasnt to worried about drilling a few holes in the plastic trim
. Hope this helps ya brotha

The only "permanent" modifications are the single hole in the cheap plastic kick plate under the glove box and a small slot through a rubber grommet in the tail gate to pass the wires through. The mic holder (VersaMount - Veramount2 for 2011+) and antenna bracket (GateMount) use existing screws or new, longer screws for existing holes. The under-the-glove-box radio connection box can be tyrapped in place.

I'm actually going to Webber University to play baseball in the fall so I know somewhat of what you're talking about with the hills out there lol.
How would you feel about maybe helping me out with the install and helping me tune it up? I'll bring you some brews as payment lol (don't really feel like dropping another $30 for a Swr meter that I'm going to use once).
From what I understand you attach the antenna and the cb to the meter and then tune your antenna and then take it off and leave it be. Correct me of I'm wrong
