Jeep CB channel?
I wonder why some get it and some don't?
Yup. Not worth ever even tuning into channel 6. None of them are up for a chat. It's all goobers broadcasting with 10,000 watts of nasty illegal amplifier power with huge spurious emissions.
Most Jeepers use 4 on trails. 16 (4X4) is the backup if there are two groups out. Most don't turn the radio on around town--they often don't even have the antenna installed (to clear garages). On the highway, 19 just to keep up with road conditions. As far as clear channels, when skip gets going, as it has been the past couple years, there aren't any clear channels.
Our jeep club and organized rides always use channel 4 as the primary on the trail, channel 9 for emergency, and 19 on the road to the trail.
I think OP was looking for a channel for around town or in general for Jeeps on road. Trail would be depending on your club or group in your area. Good news is mine is finally ordered, can't wait for the UPS guy.
Given the limited use of CBs, channel 4 could easily be the "Jeep all the time channel" and in some areas you'd still never hear anything.
