Jeep Channel
Sounds like me. I have all the parts but haven't hooked anything up because I'm still trying to decide how I want to mount the radio and I want to find a better mount for the antenna.
I installed my CB mostly just to mess with people on the PA. Everyone still laughs at me when the find out what it is on my dashboard, until they hear the truckers calling out all the speed traps on the interstate. Makes for good banter when on long trips too.
Cheers!

I have about decided that the best mount is the old fashioned ball mount. You have to make a hole in the jeep but the mount has good rubber seal that is water tight. I use that style on my old jimmy and it had great swr readings and always talked further than anything else the other people were running.
I have the terra flex spare tire mount right now but when I get the new rear bumper and tire carrier I don't think it will work with it. Haven't mounted the ball mount yet but have already bought it and that is what is in the works. Got it radio shack, it might require the use of a spring, don't know that yet either but back when I ran that kind of mount with the 102 whip it had to have the spring to get it to the proper length.
What ever you get just use a meter and make sure it has good contact with ground and also make sure you ground the radio since it will probably just mounted on plastic. I did some checks and it does not get a good ground through just the power cord and that can have an effect on your swr.

If you are not into the group thing then another aspect is entertainment, especially during highway traveling. When you are running down the interstate there is a whole 'nuther world going on.
