I purchased a kit from ebay for right around $35. I believe the seller is "mobilelaptopmount" or close to it. It basically comes with a plexiglass top and velcro, 3/4" cast iron pipe, and a tube to cover the pipe. I installed it in my 06 Jeep GC, and it worked amazingly good. I did purchase a union fitting so I could remove it when not in use. I could drive around and the mount, with the laptop, held secure.

For $40 bux, definitely worth a shot.

where did it mount to? Do you have any pictures? It looks pretty promising but the guy doesn't have many good pics of just the mount. It's easy to just photoshop a laptop in there. :-P

It has a base plate that I attached to the seat slider on the passenger seat.

That was only $40?! WOW! That's nice! I assume it is fixed and does not adjust?

RAM mount is a good one to choose. The thing to do is search craigslist or ebay to find one. My bud found his for his F-250 for $125. We use them in some of our company vehicles and they work great. When/If i get in the market for one, that is what i will get.

It sounds like ti is just pipe so i bet you could just but a few elbows and unions and make it adjust any way you want.

They talk about making it swivel between the driver and passenger.

I think this combined with a 7 inch usb monitor (Like this http://www.amazon.com/Lilliput-Um-70.../dp/B000AYHY7I) would be great.

logging software on the usb monitor with web browser and QRZ on the lappy with the digital stuff and digital radio control.

I added a 3/4" union to the bottom. It allows for easy removal and does allow you to rotate while still keeping secure while moving.
You can customize the setup you are looking for with additional pipe and elbows/45's. For that setup, I spent like $3 on extra fittings to get it over the shifter and I can still utilize the cup holders.
