Default Looking to buy a CB...Questions

I am thinking about getting a CB for the Jeep for off-road and road trip use. I have been reading some post in this section and have decided to get the Midland 75-822 portable CB. I like that I don't have to mount it anywhere and it can also be used as a handheld if I wanted.

I am also thinking about getting the 4' Firestik II FS Series Tunable Tip CB Antenna - 900 Watt or maybe the 3' II FS Series Tunable Tip CB Antenna - 650 Watt. How much difference will the extra foot and wattage rating make? Any at all? I need to see what my total height will be with either one but either way it will not fit in the garage so I will have to take it off. Again, I am not planning on keeping it on all the time anyways.

Also, is this cable any good? It looks very thin.

That is a standard CB cable. A lot of people are running it with the FireStik Stud Mount.

If you're running a standard CB, you can ignore the wattage rating. The CB only puts out 4W.

The 4' being taller will give you a better range on the road.

Wilson = Quality...

And yes.........the power rating would be only a concern to somebody running illegal power who doesn't want to fry his antenna. Meaning, if he's running 1000 watts out, he'll burn up an antenna only rated for 650.
