Actually glad I installed it. Some of the nuts needed a little tightening on the radio and center piece. Seems like it i got rid of a couple rattles and squeaks.
Get a chance to use it yet? BTW - you Jeep looks sideways.

Yeah stupid iPad won't let you rotate pics. I went out on the highway and had a few people give me a test shout, but I didn't hear a lot of chatter on 19 or 9. How do u adjust the antenna? Few guys in my jeep club have swr's I can use.

Yeah, you need a SWR Meter: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...land-75-822-CB

Got the antenna tuned to 1.2-1.3 on channel 4(which is what my club runs on the trails) and ch 19 to 1.5.

Picked up a tire shop on channel 19 about 9 miles from where I was at one point after tuning. I would say not to bad. Still need to get the aux cord to run it though the speakers. I wonder what Joe would charge me to make a cord like his....HUMMM

Looks like you’ve got it tuned.

It's really pretty easy to make. Just order the two parts I posted and solder the signal line on the mono cable to both of the signal lines on the stereo jack, and ground to ground.

So... I am curious as to what setting everyone is running. To get a low SWR I have to run the CB on "low" setting. I had an issue with the grounding on the tereflex mount being painted so i sanded off some of the paint and ran a grounding cable to the tailgate hinge bolt (wondering if that is good enough).

Any ideas. I'm running a Wilson 4' antenna and the adjuster doesn't do crap as well as the 18' crap cable from FRYs.

Midland model we are running doesn't have a low or high setting. Mine ground wire is connected to the antenna mount and grouded at the bolt that holds the sub down just inside the gate.

Interesting... I am using the 75-822 which has that feature. Theres not much in the way of instructions and using the settings in the "users manual". I figure i should leave well enough alone.

Totally... When there is only 4 pages to the user manual you tend to throw it aside and figure it out yourself.

On the 75-822 there is H/L (the button on the lower right of the radio. if its in low it says it on the LCD display. it its not on the screen obviously its on high mode. Just curious if i'm shorting myself somehow.
