I set mine to lo when we're in a group on the trails. I was told when I was on hi I was hard to understand because it sounded like I was yelling into the mic and causing distortion.

come to find out, low is transmitting 1watt and hi is 4watt... interesting.

The only reason i bring this thread back from the dead is that i have a couple of issues, one i still can't tune it in to get a low swr unless i am 1 watt and the second more serious issue is that the cb cuts out if i push the transmit button and then it will come back like 5-20 seconds after. sometimes it doesn't even transmit what i am saying. I tried it on the cb setup as well as the standalone handheld, anyone ever experience this with the 75 822 or any cb for that matter?

So far no issues. Many you got a faulty one? I would see about returning it.

I'm kinda an idoit cause i bought it on Ebay and this is actually the second unit. the first one, the lcd display was bad. They were 'new/display units' and they don't look used at all but i'm figuring if they were powered then they probably blew some resistor in the unit.

I tried it with the battery pack and the stubby... same results.

Seeing how i have already had to replace it, my hopes are not high for the 3rd being quality. i bought another one from a seperate 3rd party today online. I am going to compare results and go from there...

I do get some rednecks on ch6 from two seperate locations about 8 miles from each other so it does work but the transmit issue is a buzz kill.

p.s i took Joe002's idea and bought a stero to mono adapter and that works like a charm in the stereo system.

That's what I get for buying second rate crap on ebay.

I wasn't sure what the issue was with the old one but now I have a new new one, I can confirm the old one didn't display level on the lcd when transmitting, where obviously the good one does.

I have a cb guy in town and gunna see if he can fix the old one and maybe use that sorely as a handheld.

Haven't real world tested it but I'm not ferrying cutoff our anything

Maybe I am just stupid but.... I just dont understand.. LOL

I have everything installed and hooked up perfectly. I just can not seem to get anyone to radio check me and it makes me wonder if i just suck at life. I have a feeling I installed it correct but I am just unsure of what to do from here. Maybe I just need to wait until I go out on the trail to figure it all out.

tips and opinions appreciated!
