After mounting front and rear tow points the last 2 days I finally had a chance to go pull out the Cobra 23 Plus (40 channel plus 2 weather channels) and see where it would fit in the JK. Found my spot. On the automatic shift cover on the right (passenger side) all the way forward. Mounts almost completely verticle and doesn't rub on the passengers legs and easy to reach. I'll probably mount it tomorrow once the weather thaws out a bit. Guess I'll be looking to fab one of those Mic dash holders I saw on another thread here next.

I'll have to try and remember where the three wires connect. I have a black ground and also a red and orange wire. Can't remember if they were both just direct hot....... My other unit one has one + wire and I had a custom fuse panel with empty slots so that was easy. Where did you guys wire yours into the fuse panel?

Searched Cobras site and even though they no longer have manuals for the 23 plus, I found a manual for another model with three wires that says Orange goes to Constant +, Red goes to ACC and black is ground. The Orange must keep a memory or something charged.

Anyway, I am also going to use one of Toad's handset clips on the right of the stereo. I think it is going to work perfectly with the unit bolted vertically on the right side of the plastic auto tranny cover.
